How Do I Use The Website?

 

 

Along the top of all screens you will see a Blue Help Bar, which allows you to access support information at any time. It is advisable to read the Affinity Scheme Guide before using the site, as this will explain in detail all the options available to you.

 

Logging In

 

You should by now have registered your email address and password with Opticar, to activate your Account. If not please click on ‘Register Now’ on the front screen.

 

To activate your account please enter your email address and password and click on ‘Sign In Now’.

 

 

The first screen you are taken to is:

 

Text Box: Personal Details

 

 

Those fields marked with an * are mandatory. The other details are required should you choose to order a car, but do not have to be completed initially, should you wish not so to do.

 

The Annual Mileage field should also be completed, with your expected mileage should you order a car. This figure is used to calculate your monthly payments should you choose the PCP finance method (see the Affinity Scheme Guide).

 

Once you have completed the information on this screen, save the data by clicking on:

 

Text Box: Save Personal Details

 

 

 

Should you wish to change any of this data once it has been saved, simply amend the required field and again click on the ‘Save Personal Details’ box to update the information.

 

All data submitted by you will be saved on a secure server and we will not use any personal information other than to contact you in connection with your car enquiry.

 

We do not share your personal information with any other company.

 

When you are happy with the information you have saved, it is time to choose a car. Simply click on the following:

 

Text Box: Car Selector

 

 

On this screen there are a variety of options enabling you to search through the available models, to find the car that suits you best. The options can be used on their own, or in any combination you choose. You will notice that some fields are pre-populated with popular search criteria. These can be overtyped or deleted as you choose, or to clear all fields simply click on:

The following search criteria are available:

 

Manufacturer:                           Displays all manufacturers participating in the scheme

 

Fuel Type:                                If you have a preference, choose your fuel type here

 

Type:                                        Estate, Saloon or Hatchback? Select here

 

Insurance Group Max: Limit search to a specified maximum Insurance Group

 

Mpg – better than:                    Exclude ‘gas guzzlers’ by setting minimum mpg

 

Monthly Payment Between:       Indicative PCP figure over 3 years

 

List Price Between:                   Manufacturer List Price, not Opticar selling price

 

 

To make a selection in the scroll boxes, simply click on your selection. You can choose more than one option from a scroll box by holding down the CTRL key and clicking on the selections you want.

 

Once you have set the parameters for your search click:

 

Text Box: Show Cars

 

 

This will generate a list of all cars matching your search in the lower half of your screen. You can scroll down the list to select a vehicle of interest by simply clicking on the car.

 

 

Clicking on

 

Text Box: View Details

 

 

along side any car will generate a pop up box displaying the full car specification for that particular model.

 

When you click on a car to select, you will notice your selection populates the field at the top of the screen, underneath you email address and Employer’s name.

 

Having selected the model you are interested in, clicking on

Text Box: Options

 

 

will allow you to see and choose from the full range of extras available from the manufacturer such as upgraded stereo system, alloy wheels or pearlescent paint. In the pop up box that appears, simple click the check box next to as many of the options that you are interested in.

 

 

Then simply click

 

Text Box: Save Preferences

 

 

to add your selections to your chosen car.

 

If you are happy with your choices, the next step is to click on

Text Box: Car Quote

 

 

in order to see the cost of your selection.

 

The Affinity Scheme Guide explains in detail the finance methods available to you. Whether Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), Hire Purchase (HP) or simply Outright Purchase. On this screen you can view the different methods and choose the one that suits you best.

 

Firstly you will see that you have the ability to again View Details on the car you have chosen and add any additional Options to the car, in the same way as already explained. Should you wish to submit your details to receive a Formal Quotation, you can complete the Preferred Colour and Preferred Trim boxes, so that we will be able to advise on availability of your chosen vehicle. However, it is not compulsory to do so and can be left blank if you have no preference. Our Sales Consultants will be happy to advise on colour choice and availability.

 

The fields for you to use are as follows:

 

Finance Period

If you are interested in PCP you have the choice of 24,36 & 48 months. It should be

remembered that with PCP finance the Total mileage you undertake for the duration

of the lease cannot exceed 120,000 miles. For HP you have the additional choice of

60 months and there are no mileage constraints. Please make your selection from the

drop down box

 

Deposit

Unlike many schemes available elsewhere, there is no requirement to make any

deposit payment for your car. However, you may do so if you wish. Enter the amount

here to see the affect on your monthly payment figures.

 

Hire Purchase

If you wish to choose the HP method of finance, check this box.

 

Calculate Monthly Payment

When the above fields have been completed to your specification, click on this button

to calculate your monthly payments which can be seen towards he bottom of the

screen.

 

Residual Value of Car

This shows the Guaranteed Future Value of your car for PCP finance and will be zero for HP.

 

Having now chosen the parameters for you car finance, there is a selection of products offered by Opticar to enhance your car ownership experience:

 

Armour

Smart Nav

Tyre Insurance

Gap Insurance

 

None of these options are mandatory, you have freedom to choose those that suit you, or none at all. Simply click the check box alongside the product you are interested in, and then refresh your quote by again clicking on the Calculate/Refresh button.

 

All these products are explained in detail in the Affinity Scheme Guide and by moving your mouse over the product name you will see a short description.

Total Cost including selected options at List Price

 

This shows the price of your car and selected options at Manufacturer List Price

 

Total Cost including selected options at Opticar Price

 

This shows the price of your car and selected options at the price offered by Opticar.

 

This is also the price you pay if you choose to Outright Purchase the car.

 

Opticar Saving

 

The saving you will make over List Price by purchasing your car from Opticar

 

Monthly Car Payments (subject to confirmation)

 

This is the monthly payment you would make for your chosen finance option, subject to confirmation.

 

 

If you are happy with your car selection and finance method, you now need to submit your details so that we can provide you with a formal quotation.

and your details will automatically be forwarded to the Opticar Sales Consultants. You will receive a message confirming transmission and should also receive an email confirmation. A Sales Consultant will then contact you with a formal quotation the next working day.
